Placement Exam for Master of Theological Studies

The results of this essay exam will determine which additional courses you may need before you take the qualifying exam to write your M.T.S. thesis.
Please read through the Catechism of the Catholic Church in preparation for the exam.
Students should also purchase a copy of Our Sunday Visitor's Catholic Dictionary edited by Reverend Peter M.J. Stravinskas, Ph.D., S.T.L., ISBN 978-0-87973-390-2. This source should be used in conjunction with the Catechism to ensure essential terms are properly understood.
The exam is composed of twelve randomly selected questions taken from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. You will have three hours to complete your answers. This means you will have approximately 15 minutes to complete each answer. Answer each question as completely as possibly within the time limit.
